Southern Rocks 2018 or #srocks18 is taking shape. Our “teachers for teachers” conference themes has an all-through focus and highlights some of the key questions around meeting the needs of all learners. We have four conference strands, Teaching, Thinking, Learning and Assessment, three keynote speakers and some fantastic session leaders for you to look forward to.

TICKETS AVAILABLE FROM 18th October 6pm

We hear you, we know that the conversation around the sessions are as important as the sessions themselves – sessions gaps are purposeful generous. No formal lunch time, that allows you time to choose who and when you decide to chat. Catering plans are under way. More on that to follow.

We have the ice-cream van-man pencilled in for the date, though we’re not sure how well that will work in early February, however David Rogers assures me “teachers love ice-cream.”

Tickets go on general release from Wednesday 18th October.

You can book two tickets, with a refundable booking fee of £10 returned to you as long as you scan your ticket on arrival.

That ticket gets you, arrival refreshments, 3 keynotes, 4 teacher led sessions, 8 months of TripticoPlus worth (the same £10) where you can build and exchange learning resources with a global Triptico community. We have over IPEVO £500 worth of teacher tech to raffle and more.

Sessions will be available for you to peruse, with session resources and conversations made available in advance via Canvas LMS – our conference learning platform.

The venue, Hindhead Campus, can comfortably host 250 delegates, with 10 break out rooms. We are working with local B&Bs and hotels to secure excellent over night accommodation rates and potentially, hosting a Friday night gathering. We have booked parking support. We welcome offers of support and are working on volunteers to offer transport to to and from our local train station.

Our Student Leadership Team here at Hindhead Campus are looking forward to welcoming you.

You can reach David and I via our work email or for general conversations via social media – we plan to take all enquiries for via srocks18@focus-school.com

For those of you who have already offered to lead a session, kindly complete the speaker form. David and I will then do our very best to balance the four session themes as well as providing a breadth of coverage for our attendees.

Feel free to share this web address, event sign up details are due for release in 18th October from 6pm.

We are really keen to extend our reach beyond social media, so do mention the conference to your colleagues over a cuppa in the staffroom.
