Year 5 had a fabulous day on Wednesday celebrating Indian culture, music, art and food in monsoon like weather conditions!

Year 5 girls in their Indian clothes

On Wednesday 22nd March, Year 5 celebrated all things Indian. In ‘monsoon’ weather we danced and sang to traditional  Indian music lead by Miss. Hildred. We followed with Art and created our Rangoli inspired prints using repeat pattern and geometric lines. In amongst all the creativity the aroma of Indian cooking drifted across the activity room as lunch was prepared by wonderful volunteers and students. Delicious curry was served with ice cream to follow. The afternoon brought further printmaking opportunities for those who had cooked in the morning. Finally sweet Indian snacks were served at 2.30pm for everyone to enjoy. What a fabulous and cultural day Year 5 experienced as we celebrated the amazing country that is India. Mr. Lees

Special thanks to our volunteer parents who came in and helped with cooking and serving our delicious Indian food.
