Today was our first whole school, new school, assembly.  I had been thinking about this assembly for a good few weeks, excited to address the students all together. The theme for our assembly was unashamedly borrowed from OneSchool Global’s Hugo Vaughan, who recently presented to our CA Team. In turn, the presentation was shared with Head teachers at our recent SELT meeting hosted at the fantastic and newly opened Teacher Academy. His talk drew heavily on All Black culture (New Zealand rugby) and the leadership of it’s celebrated captain Richie McCaw.

Following a serious allocation of personal SDL, some added reading and watching numerous Ritchie McCaw interviews, I managed to combined both Hugo Vaughan’s key OneSchool messages and those from the National Focus Learning Trust INSET earlier in the year. I presented to students and staff a message of raised expectation, of humility and personal responsibility and commitment – contributing to our “New Normal.” My genuine thanks to those students who offered their assistance today and helped “sweep the school,” today. I know that Mr Ryder our new Premises Manager was struck by your sincerity and support.
